PILLAR INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS COMPANY is a warehousing manufacturers’ agent that was founded in 1971 by John Pillar, who led the company until 1993 when he retired. At that time he sold his stock to three employees that were working as salesmen. Tom Mankey became president and managing partner; John Mitchell became secretary-treasurer and took over the financial duties as well as responsible for outside sales, Brian Marcin became vice-president and continued in outside sales.
On December 31, 2000 John Mitchell resigned from Pillar Industrial Products to pursue other interests. Brian Marcin assumed the duties of secretary-treasurer as well as vice-president and Tom Mankey maintains the duties of president and general manager.
On March 26, 2010 Tom Mankey retired and Brian Marcin became president and treasurer. Brian Beatty who was a salesman for six years became a partner in the company and assumed the title of vice-president and secretary.
PILLAR specializes in plastic pipe, valves and pipe fittings, plastic pipe cement and related products. We serve industrial, plumbing, mining, waterworks and irrigation distributors in a five state marketing area that consists of Western New York, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Kentucky.
PILLAR operates a sales office and 18,000 sq ft Warehouse and 2 acre Yard, centrally located in the territory just outside of Pittsburgh, Pa.
